Nadine Chaar
An educator who believes that education can shape the future of the generations. In 2000, she received a Teaching Diploma in English Language Teaching from the Lebanese University and has earned a Master of Education in TEFL from the Lebanese International University in 2011.
A strong advocate of hands-on, Project Based learning, she involves her students in a variety of community service, problem-solving activities. Her professional interests focus on communicative approaches to language teaching, thematic planning, and cooperative learning and her current projects include the implementation of Rigorous Coherent Writing Units of Study and adopting a differentiated reading program.
In 2000, she started her career as an English as a second language teacher for primary and middle school teaching ESL learners ranging from grades 4—8 in Sidon National School. In 2006, she was certified as a Master Trainer for the Intel Teach to the Future Essential Courses. She worked with the Hariri Organization to train teachers to design and implement project based learning. Having served in the role of the Coordinator of English Language for the Primary English Department at the Lebanese School of Doha (Lower and Upper primary) has provided many opportunities to observe and work with fellow colleagues on designing units and implementing projects taking into consideration the diverse needs of the ESL learners. In 2013, she shifted to the preschool department as an early childhood coordinator. She was a member of the School Wide Committee and she served on the leadership committee for accreditation and school improvement. In that capacity, she joined the school improvement sub- committee at the same school playing a vital role in reviewing the mission and vision of LSQ and preparing all the documents needed to meet the Advanced standards of quality.
